Phoenix is Leicester’s centre for independent cinema, art and digital culture. We are a charity.
In our four modern cinema screens we show everything from micro-budget independent films to the latest Hollywood blockbusters, and we regularly organise festivals and events. In January 2023 we opened our new extension which houses two more screens, a roof terrace bar, a brand new café, a fresh gallery and events space.
Our regularly changing art programme presents work by local and international artists, and our education work helps people of all ages to learn about, and create their own, film and art.
At Phoenix, we believe film and art have the power to enhance our lives. Watching a movie or visiting a gallery can entertain and inspire us, offering new perspectives on our lives and those of others.
They deserve to be experienced somewhere special – which is why we work hard to ensure Phoenix is a place everyone can feel welcome and inspired.
Wheelchair spaces are available in all our cinema screens: three in Screen 1, two in Screen 2, three in Screen 3 and three in Screen 4. Please call Box Office prior to booking if you require a wheelchair space or other accessible seating. The foyer, Box Office, Café Bar and screen entrances are all on a flat level on the ground floor. Lift access is available to the first floor meeting rooms, Terrace Room and the Nest rooftop bar.
